Chris Wiley joined the staff at Southmont as Youth Minister in July of 2013. He grew up primarily in the Northwest and moved back to DFW in 1991. He graduated from Mesquite High School in 1992 and began college at Eastfield College in Mesquite. He then transferred to East Texas State University and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. He spent 4 years teaching in the Paris, Texas area. In 2002, he moved back to Mesquite and began teaching in Garland in 2005.
In March 2013, Chris had the opportunity to come and begin working as a helper and small group leader with the students at Southmont, many of whom he already knew through events that both attended throughout the previous few years. In July 2013, Chris became the Interim Minister to Students and is currently serving in that role. He is planning on beginning his Master’s degree in Christian Education in the fall of 2016.
