Bible

Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.”

Depending on the particular translation of the Bible that a person uses, the name mentioned in Isaiah 7:14 is spelled either Immanuel or Emmanuel. Regardless of the spelling, the name has the same meaning and refers to the same person. It means “God with us” and it refers to Jesus. It is His birth we celebrate as we move toward Christmas.
