The Prayer Room at Southmont is a special place where intercessors spend time praying for physical healing, safety of our military personnel, missionaries around the world, troubled families, people who are just trying to find God. One at a time, the intercessors come to this quiet place–away from the turmoil of the world, in a safe and comfortable room where the presence of God can meet in the quietest places of the heart.
Our goal is to maintain prayer for those whose needs we know. We pray over the names of the injured, the diseased, or someone’s desperate job interview. People who seek our intercession before a gracious God may call in to the prayer room, with a special request, or make out prayer cards, located in boxes in the main hallways of the church. Requests are always considered confidential. A special joy is always felt when we can place a card in the box labeled “Answered Prayer.”
Although many come here now, more volunteers are always needed. If you can choose an hour during the week when you can come to the prayer room and there alone attend God on your knees for others, for a troubled world, or for your own needs, please call Sylvia Stevens at (940) 387-2306. For a special tour of the Prayer Room, please call the above number.
You may also find a ready group of prayer warriors at our online prayer web site: prayer.southmont.org. You may submit prayer requests 24/7 at this site. Confidentiality and security are at the heart of this web tool, but most of all, your requests are being seen and prayed for by the Southmont family.
