Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Room at Southmont is a special place. Intercessors are here during many hours of the week--to pray for your physical healing,. for the safety of our military personnel, for the many missionaries around the world, for troubled families, for someone who is just trying to find God. One at a time, the intercessors come to this quiet place--away from the turmoil of the world, in a safe and comfortable room where the presence of God can meet us in the most quiet places of the heart.

Our goal is to maintain long, sustained prayer for those whose needs we know. But we need more volunteers. Although many now come here, more are always needed to pray over the names of the injured, the diseased, or someone's desperate job interview. People who seek our intercession before a gracious God may call in to the prayer room with a special request, or they may make out prayer cards (located in boxes in the main hallways of the church). These requests are always considered confidential. We always feel a special joy when we can place a card in the box labeled "Answered Prayer."

If you can choose an hour during the week when you can come to the prayer room and there alone attend God on your knees for others, for a troubled world, or for your own needs, please call Sylvia Stevens at (940) 387-2306. For a special tour of the Prayer Room, please call the above number.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
