Tonya Ainsworth
worship director
God is faithful!
Raised in the church as one of three daughters of a Music Minister and Children’s Choir Director, Tonya fell in love with music and songs to Jesus. From the very beginning, faith and music were a large part of her DNA.
Her love for music grew as she was introduced to the cello at the age of eleven. Church youth orchestras and school orchestras helped in nurturing her desire to play strings, but singing with her sisters was a passion that led them to travel to many churches across the United States.
Tonya graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, TX. She went on to study cello performance at The University of North Texas, but graduated with a radio-television and film degree, working for twelve years in major market news, as a news anchor for NBC 5 and WBAP.
Tonya’s biggest blessing after her relationship with Jesus is being the mother to both Chelsea Jewel Blankenship and Brady Allen Blankenship. Both young adults. She married her best friend, Scott Ainsworth in August 2021. They enjoy hiking, being on the water, and spending time with their entire family, which is many…including her two bonus grandchildren.
If she is not serving in music or enjoying time with family, she is watching sports. She’s a sports enthusiast – favorites being football, softball, and baseball to be specific.
Tonya testifies of the goodness of God, even in the struggles and the joys of this life, and boldly proclaims that God is still Healer, Defender, Savior and Friend to those who call upon Him! Tonya’s desire is to lead others to Jesus! Praise His Holy Name!
