Southmont Student Ministry is designed to equip students from 6th grade through 12th grade who, through prayer and Scripture, worship God in their families, in their church, and in their community.
In the 2023-2024 school year our vision is “Walk Humbly”. This is from what we see in Micah 6:8. As our ministry goes on in the school year, I want SMSM to focus on what it means to follow God in everything we do. People every where always talk about how great they are. However, as Christians I want us to see that greatness is defined by God, and us humbly walking behind Him. I want us to understand that no matter how old or young we are we can grow closer to God every day.
Wednesday: We call our Wednesday Night meetings “Mountain Top” and they are from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Gym. We will have worship, speaking, prayer, and games.
Sunday Morning: We have Sunday School from 9:30-10:35am. We meet in the Gym which is located in the back parking lot. We will have a teaching time from 9:30-10 a.m. We then break up into gender based small groups to discuss in more detail. We then have our contemporary worship service at 10:45am.
Sunday Nights: We call our Sunday Night Activities, “Funday Nights”. It is separated into three parts. We have Youth Choir from 5-5:45pm. We eat dinner in the Gym from 5:45-6:15pm. We then split up Jr. High and High School from 6:15-7:00pm.
At least once a month we do a fun event on Wednesday from 6-8 pm. This is usually the 4th Wednesday of the Month. These events can be anything from Movie Night, Scavenger Hunt, or a Game Night. I hope your students will join us for this fun and fellowship.
We do 3 big events a year. This is Disciple Now, Camp, and Mission Trip. The tentative dates are below, but keep a look out for more information.
January 12-14- Disciple Now
July 8-13- Youth Camp
