About Michael
I serve as the Director of Business Operations at Southmont, where I have the privilege of supporting our church’s mission through financial stewardship, operational leadership, and behind-the-scenes ministry support. With a bachelor’s degree in business management and nearly 20 years of experience as a business owner and president, I bring a passion for organizational excellence and a strong belief in transparency and accountability.
Before entering ministry, I founded and led my own business for almost two decades. That experience, combined with extensive international travel throughout my career, gave me the opportunity to work with people from many different cultures and backgrounds while developing a deep appreciation for sound business practices and servant leadership.
Music has always been a significant part of my life. I have been playing the trombone for more than 45 years and consider it my favorite hobby. My wife, Margette, and I enjoy performing together at various venues throughout the Denton area, and music continues to be a meaningful way for us to connect with others and build community.
Margette and I have been married for 33 years and are blessed with two wonderful children. Our son, Charles, serves on active duty in the United States Army as a paralegal, and our daughter, Izzy, is beginning her senior year at Denton High School.
Working at Southmont is incredibly rewarding because it allows me to use my business experience in service to God’s kingdom. I am grateful for the opportunity to help ensure that the church operates with integrity, transparency, and faithful stewardship as we serve our congregation and community.
